The run from our Brendale workshop out to North Lakes is roughly 15 km, about 13 minutes by road on a routing estimate. No. The free quote includes an on-site measure of every opening in the house, and you decide from there whether to do the whole run at once or split it into stages to spread the cost. You might start with the street-facing rooms or the western side and come back for the rest later. Because each window is made to your measurements at Brendale, a later stage can be matched to the first for size, frame colour and glass.
Yes, if you order them that way. The colour and finish are settled when you place the order, chosen against what's already on the house rather than off a screen, and the glass is matched the same way. We use Vantage aluminium systems and cut every frame to your opening at our factory, so the size follows your wall. In a street where the facades were built to one look, that's the difference between a repair you notice and one you don't.
Only where the work counts as a new build or a major renovation. Queensland has applied the NCC 2022 residential energy provisions since 1 May 2024, and they set a 7-star NatHERS rating for the building shell, with glazing one of the biggest levers in reaching it. Putting a same-size window back into an existing wall generally doesn't trigger that. Where the rules do apply, double glazing and performance glass are part of the range, and for a house in this part of the country the figure worth watching is solar heat gain as much as the U-value. Sometimes, and it's the standard that decides. AS 1288 requires Grade A safety glass, toughened or laminated, in human-impact areas, including window glazing with sills lower than 500 mm above floor level and glazing in or beside doors. In a house with young kids the low-sill windows in living areas and bedrooms are the ones worth getting right first. We check sill heights at the measure and quote the right glass from the start, rather than leaving it to be sorted out on install day.
Often we can reglaze it. If the frame is sound and square, replacing the glass alone is the cheaper fix, and we do glass repair and replacement as well as full window manufacture. Whatever goes back in has to suit the position it sits in under AS 1288. Where the frame itself is worn or the wrong size for what you want now, we'll say so at the quote and price a new window made at Brendale.
