Aluminium Glass Windows Mango Hill
Our factory and showroom sit at 241 Leitchs Road, Brendale, roughly 16 km from Mango Hill and about a 20 minute drive down the Old North Road and Boundary Road corridor. That’s close enough that the person who measures your openings works out of the same building where your windows get made. We’ve been doing exactly that since 1972.
Why Mango Hill chooses custom aluminium glass windows
When the Redcliffe Peninsula line opened in October 2016, Mango Hill got two new stations and the growth run that followed. Census counts show the population more than tripled in a decade, from 4,340 in 2011 to 8,434 in 2016 to 14,921 by 2021. Nearly everything here is recent, and homes built to an estate budget usually carry single-glazed aluminium windows in standard sizes, chosen to hit a price. In Mango Hill, that shows up four ways.
First, noise. The rail line now runs through the suburb and the Bruce Highway passes close by. A single pane of glass does very little to stop either. A double-glazed unit, two panes over a sealed gap, cuts outside noise compared with single glazing.
Second, condensation. These are air-conditioned homes. On a cool night the inside face of a single-glazed window sits close to the outside temperature, moisture beads on the glass, and mould follows at the frame line. The sealed gap in a double-glazed unit keeps the inner pane closer to room temperature, so the glass stays drier.
Third, ventilation. Townhouses make up 27.6% of Mango Hill’s dwellings, an unusually high share, and they sit on tight lots. The suburb holds Halpine Lake, and developer material describes Capestone as 300 hectares built around a 12.8 hectare lake. Breezes move off that open water and open space. Louvre, awning and casement windows catch cross-flow in ways a builder slider can’t.
Fourth, the rules. Since 1 May 2024, new builds and major renovations in Queensland must reach a 7-star energy rating under NCC 2022, and glazing is one of the biggest levers for getting there. A like-for-like replacement generally doesn’t trigger it. If you’re renovating, the window spec is now a compliance question. If you’re simply replacing, you get a free choice to do better than the builder did.
We deal with all four the same way: Vantage-system windows fabricated to measure at our Brendale factory and installed by our own crews. That goes for owner-occupiers and for the landlords who hold much of this suburb, where 45.4% of households rent.
Architectural glass windows in Mango Hill
Some Mango Hill projects want more than a standard opening. Full-height glass to catch a lake view, a corner window where two walls meet, a bank of louvres climbing a stairwell, or an opening no stock window will fit. People often type architectural glass windows into a search when they’re chasing this kind of work. What it actually takes is custom fabrication. We make every window to your measurements at our Brendale factory, so an odd-sized opening is just another job sheet. The same Vantage sliding, awning, casement, double-hung and louvre systems get sized and combined to suit the design. You pick frame colours, finishes and glass types per project. Bring us the plans, or have us out to measure the opening first.
Superior Glass Brisbane has made and installed glass since 1972, family owned the whole way, with director Nathan Fox still hands-on in daily operations. We’re a manufacturer-installer, not a middleman: windows are fabricated at our 1,700 sqm factory and showroom at 241 Leitchs Road, Brendale, then fitted by our own crews. Our installers hold Cert III in Glass and Glazing and Cert III in Carpentry, which matters when a window opening needs framing work as well as glass. We’re QBCC licensed and insured. In Queensland, paid glazing work legally requires a QBCC glass, glazing and aluminium licence, so checking that box matters for anyone you hire. We supply Vantage aluminium window systems and Breezeway louvres, back window installations with a workmanship guarantee, and the measure and quote cost nothing. Our service fleet covers the North Brisbane and Moreton Bay corridor, so Mango Hill jobs slot into regular local runs from Brendale.
