Warner Lakes windows, made just up the road in Brendale
Every window we build starts with someone standing in your house holding a tape measure. Our factory and showroom is at 241 Leitchs Road, Brendale, roughly 6 km from Warner Lakes and about a 10 minute drive. Warner Lakes sits on the fleet runs we already make through the North Brisbane and Pine Rivers corridor, so coming out to measure isn't a special trip. We make the window, we fit it, and we're the ones you call if something isn't right.

Why Warner Lakes chooses custom aluminium glass windows
Warner Lakes was released in stages, so window age here reads by street rather than by suburb. The estate went in from 2005, southwest of where Old North Road meets Kremzow Road. Building carried on for more than a decade. The Edge, a 93-home small-lot precinct, was finished in 2014, and later stages ran through the mid-2010s. Two houses a short walk apart can sit a decade apart in window age.
That gap changes the job. On the 2005 streets, owners notice it one thing at a time. A double-hung sash stops staying up. Wind a stiff awning handle and it spins without catching. Water pools on a sill after a storm and takes days to clear. A window lock stops lining up as the frame settles with age. Around twenty years of Brisbane weather does that to builder-grade aluminium, and the faults arrive in clusters, so the sash that dropped is rarely the last. That is why the whole house is worth measuring at once, with the worn openings built together and installed on a single booking. The mid-2010s streets sit well short of that age, so most of those windows have years left. Those owners tend to call about one problem window, or because a new room needs an opening that matches what’s already there.
Then there’s which way the house faces. Homes near Warner Lake and Frank Nichols Reserve have an outlook worth glazing for. Wider sliders and bigger fixed panes, with louvres where the breeze comes through. Rooms looking onto Sarbi Park on Swan Parade face council open space rather than a neighbour’s wall, so clear glass and a larger pane cost nothing in privacy. Traffic is a separate question. Kremzow Road is the main connector through here and backs up at peak, so houses close to it want glass chosen for noise control. A sealed double-glazed unit cuts outside noise compared with single glazing.
The compact streets from the same estate want close to the opposite. Windows there sit an arm’s length from a fence or a neighbour’s wall. Those openings need obscure glass and screens on anything that opens, plus some thought about placement.
We build for both ends from one place. Five aluminium styles, made to the exact width and height of your opening at our 1,700 sqm Brendale factory, fitted by our own installers. Warner Lakes sits inside the suburb of Warner, where 91.3% of occupied homes are separate houses and the median age is 33 (ABS 2021). That’s a lot of family houses, and window work here happens one house at a time.

Common window problems we solve in Warner Lakes
The first replacement wave on the oldest streets
The 2005 stages are around twenty years old now. Builder-spec aluminium tends to wear out together, so rollers, sashes, latches and seals in the same house reach the end at about the same time. Handled one window at a time, every replacement means a separate fabrication run and a separate visit to fit it and make good around the frame. Done as one lot, that happens once. We measure every opening in the house on one visit, make the lot at Brendale, then fit them in planned runs. The measure and quote cost nothing.
Openings that don't match any stock window
Estate builders worked to their own sizes, and later extensions, carports and re-cladding shifted openings again. Off-the-shelf windows rarely land on those numbers. A near-enough window leaves you with packers, gaps and patched render around the frame. We fabricate each window to the exact opening rather than trimming a stock size to fit. Frame colour, finish and glass type are settled at the same time.
Security screens on windows people actually open
On the tighter Warner Lakes lots, an opening window can sit within reach of a fence line. Owners want the breeze at night without leaving the house open. An unscreened opening window is usually the weakest point in the house, and it's why a lot of people stop opening them at all. We fit security screens to opening windows and are an authorised installer for Prowler Proof and Crimsafe. The AS 5039 series is the standard that governs anything sold as a security screen, and since its 2023 restructure the dynamic impact test runs at 200 joules. Raise screens at the free measure and they get priced alongside the windows.
Bathroom and bedroom windows facing a neighbour's wall
The small-lot precincts inside the estate put houses close together. Wet-area and bedroom windows often look straight at a fence or the house next door. People fit a blind, leave it shut, and lose the ventilation the window was there for. Obscure and textured glass keeps the light and takes the view away, and louvres set high in the wall move air above eye level. Where a sill sits under 500 mm from the floor, AS 1288 calls for Grade A safety glass, so that goes into the job.

Architectural glass windows in Warner Lakes
People searching for architectural glass windows in Warner Lakes usually want something a catalogue size can't give them. We don't run a separate designer range. What we do is build the five standard aluminium styles to whatever width and height the drawing calls for. That covers near full-height glass on a park-facing wall, two windows meeting at a corner, a bank of louvres running the length of a room, and sizes that were never stock in the first place. Frame colours and finishes get chosen to suit the house, and the glass is picked for what the room has to handle, heat gain or noise. Bring us the plan, or just the opening. We measure it, build to it, and come back to fit it.
Why Warner Lakes trusts Superior Glass
Superior Glass has been family owned and operating since 1972. We're not a middleman. The windows for a Warner Lakes job are made at our own 1,700 sqm factory and showroom at 241 Leitchs Road, Brendale, then fitted by our installers. Those installers hold a Cert III in Glass and Glazing and a Cert III in Carpentry. That second ticket matters when an opening needs reframing as well as new glass. In Queensland, paid glass and glazing work legally requires a QBCC Glass, Glazing and Aluminium licence, and we're QBCC licensed and insured. Our louvres run Breezeway blades, and we build on Vantage aluminium systems. Under the NCC, new windows in habitable buildings have to meet AS 2047, the standard that sets how they're tested for wind pressure, water and air leaks. Workmanship is guaranteed, and the on-site measure and quote is free.

Aluminium Glass Windows in Warner Lakes: your questions answered
Yes, in person. There's no Warner Lakes shopfront and no call centre standing between you and us. Booking a measure is one call: ring 07 3353 1588 or email sales@superiorglass.com.au, tell us the address and roughly what you need done, and we set a time to come and look at the openings. The visit and the quote both cost nothing. Brendale is close enough that a Warner Lakes address is easy to slot in.
Often not all of them, but it's worth checking the lot. The earliest stages date from 2005, so that glass is around twenty years old, and builder-spec units tend to reach the end together. We measure every opening on the one visit and tell you which ones can wait. Doing the tired ones in a single run saves repeat visits.
Usually not. Queensland's 7 star energy rules under NCC 2022 have applied since 1 May 2024, and they cover new builds and major renovations. Swapping a window for one the same size generally doesn't trigger them. Plenty of people still choose double glazing for the heat and the noise. In Brisbane's climate, how much sun heat the glass lets in matters as much as insulation.
That's most of what we do. Windows are made to the width and height we measure at your place, including odd sizes in older openings and non-standard shapes in new builds. You pick the frame colour and finish, plus the glass type for insulation or safety. It all happens at the Brendale factory, so a one-off size isn't a special order from somewhere else.
Two ways, and you can combine them. The simplest is the glass itself: a textured or obscured pane still passes daylight but blocks the sightline, and it's chosen at the same time as the frame colour. The other is the window style. A run of louvres set high on the wall, built on Breezeway blades, ventilates a room while the sightline stays above head height, which suits a bathroom or a bedroom that opens onto the fence next door. One rule sits underneath both: where the sill is lower than 500 mm above the floor, AS 1288 requires Grade A safety glass in that pane, so it goes in as standard.
