Yes. The suburb's 1970s and 80s chamferboard and brick homes have settled over 50 years, so openings are rarely true. We measure each opening on site and make every window to that exact width and height at our Brendale factory, including non-standard sizes. Our installers also hold Cert III in Carpentry, so timber repairs around the reveal are handled by the same crew that fits the window.

It helps. A double-glazed unit puts two panes and a sealed air gap between your room and the street, which cuts noise compared with the single glazing most original windows carry. That matters near Samford Road and Patricks Road, and on streets that pick up sound from the Ferny Grove rail line, which runs to the station in neighbouring Ferny Grove. We'll tell you at the measure which rooms stand to gain the most.

Fog between the panes means the unit's edge seal has failed and moisture has got into the gap; it won't wipe off from either side. The fix is a new sealed unit. We measure the failed unit and manufacture a replacement at our Brendale factory, or quote a complete new window if the frame has corroded as well. Glass repair and replacement is part of our standard service range.

AS 1288, the Australian standard for glass in buildings, requires Grade A toughened or laminated safety glass in human-impact areas, which includes window glazing with sills lower than 500 mm above floor level. Many Ferny Hills windows were glazed decades before that requirement, so older low sills often still hold ordinary glass. We check sill heights as part of the free on-site measure and quote the right glass for each opening.

We make five styles: sliding, awning, casement, double-hung and louvre windows. Louvre windows use Breezeway blades in Vantage aluminium frames, and they suit rooms that open toward the suburb's bushland fringe near Samford Conservation Park. Each style comes in a choice of frame colours, finishes and glass types, and all are made to your opening's measured size.
