Everton Hills windows, made just up the road in Brendale
Everton Hills is about 9 km from our factory at 241 Leitchs Road, Brendale, a run down South Pine Road through Albany Creek. That corridor, North Brisbane through Pine Rivers and Moreton Bay, is where our service fleet works, so Hills District jobs run as part of our regular local runs from the Brendale base. One business measures your openings, makes the windows and fits them, and the on-site measure that starts it costs nothing.

Why Everton Hills chooses custom aluminium glass windows
Condensation shows up first on the shaded side of the house. Three point three square kilometres of Everton Hills sit on a grade, with Bunyaville Conservation Park closing off the northern edge, and on a sloping block under mature trees one wall can sit in shade most of the day, running cooler, with the air against it barely moving. Through the cooler months, single glazing on that side can be wet by morning, and the moisture ends up in sills and tracks, where mould follows.
Then there is what sits in the wall. Subdivision started south of South Pine Road in 1965 and pushed north about a decade later, and the census series behind it, 4,707 residents by 1981 against 2,048 ten years earlier, marks out when the bulk of these houses were framed and glazed. A sash from that era is one pane of glass in a frame with no thermal break, and on an elevation that never gets sun it sits close to outside temperature all night. That is the surface the moisture in your kitchen and bathroom air finds. With 81.2% of dwellings here separate houses and almost no apartments, the call to do something about it is the owner’s alone, not a body corporate’s.
The slope creates a second problem, and glass alone won’t fix it. A house cut into a hillside often sits low on one side and up on posts on the other, so air does not cross it the way it would on flat land. Which way each sash opens then matters as much as what is in it. A bank of louvres on the low, shaded wall only clears the air if there’s an opening on the far side to push it through, so when we measure we check where the air moves and where it stalls before settling the styles. All five of our window styles handle that job.
Noise is the third. South Pine Road is the suburb’s main through road, and on a hillside, sound carries well past the houses that front it. A double-glazed unit holds two panes apart over a sealed spacer gap; the gap slows heat transfer, keeps the inner pane near room temperature so it stops sweating, and cuts outside noise compared with single glazing. Double-glazed windows are a standard part of our range.
All of it starts with measuring the openings you actually have. We make every window to width and height at our Brendale factory, and our installers hold Cert III in both glazing and carpentry, so an out-of-square 1970s frame is normal work, handled on site.

Common window problems we solve in Everton Hills
Condensation and mould around single-glazed windows
A single pane sits near outside temperature, so overnight the moisture in your indoor air condenses straight onto it. On Everton Hills' shaded, tree-lined hillside blocks, the cold, still side of the house makes it worse. That water ends up in sills and reveals, and mould gets into paint and sealant. A double-glazed unit keeps the inner pane closer to room temperature, so there's far less cold glass for moisture to land on. We make the units to suit your existing openings.
Choosing louvre, awning or casement windows for cross-ventilation
A house set into a slope doesn't breathe evenly. One side sits low against the hill or under mature trees, so rooms on that side hold still, humid air. Still air is exactly what condensation and mould need to get established. We make all five styles, and which one suits which room comes down to how the air travels across your particular block. That is something we settle standing on site rather than off a plan.
Cutting South Pine Road traffic noise with double glazing
The rooms that face the road cop it worst. Single glazing barely slows the traffic noise coming off South Pine Road, so a front room can stay loud from first light. A bedroom that never goes quiet makes the whole house feel busier than it is. The sealed gap in a double-glazed unit cuts outside noise compared with single glazing. We manufacture the double-glazed units ourselves as part of the standard range, sized to your openings.
Failed or foggy double-glazed units
The edge seal on an insulated glass unit doesn't last forever. Once it fails, moisture gets into the gap and the glass fogs from the inside, where no cloth can reach it. A fogged unit has lost the sealed gap that made it insulate and quieten in the first place. Glass repair and replacement is part of our everyday work. We make a new unit to the exact size at Brendale and fit it into your existing frame where the frame is still sound.

Architectural glass windows in Everton Hills
Renovation work here often starts with a level change. Many blocks in this hilly 3.3 sq km suburb sit on a grade, so a house built into the slope tends to put its main living room lower and more shaded than the street it faces. Glass in that wall is mostly there to borrow light back for a room the slope has left dim. Architectural glass windows is the phrase that usually gets typed for it. We don't sell a range under that name; we build the window the design asks for. That means a made-to-measure aluminium window in whatever style the drawing calls for, sized to the plan instead of to a catalogue, and fabricated in-house with the frame colour and glass type chosen for each opening. On the 1965 to early-1980s houses that fill these streets, the opening usually needs reworking before anything new goes into it, and our installers carry a carpentry ticket alongside the glazing one, so that part doesn't get subbed out. If there's a plan, send it through. If there's only an idea, we'll come out and measure the wall it's meant to sit in.
Why Everton Hills trusts Superior Glass
Superior Glass has made and fitted glass in Brisbane since 1972, family owned the whole way, with director Nathan Fox still hands-on in the day-to-day. We don't order windows in from somewhere else. We fabricate them at our 1,700 sqm factory and showroom at 241 Leitchs Road, Brendale, then install them with our own crews. We make aluminium windows in every common style, plus double-glazed units built for insulation and quieter rooms. Our installers hold Cert III in Glass and Glazing and Cert III in Carpentry, a useful pairing in a suburb whose housing stock mostly dates from the late 1960s to the 1980s. We're QBCC licensed and insured, window installations carry a workmanship guarantee, and every job runs the same five steps: consultation and site assessment, design and quote, manufacturing, installation, then final inspection and handover.

Aluminium Glass Windows in Everton Hills: your questions answered
Yes. That's most of what we do in older suburbs. Everton Hills' estates went up from 1965 through the early 1980s, and openings from that era rarely match today's stock sizes. We measure each opening, make the window to that width and height at our Brendale factory, and our installers hold carpentry as well as glazing trades, so frames that have moved with the slope can be squared up properly during the fit.
It deals with the main cause. Condensation forms when moist air touches a cold pane, and on Everton Hills' shaded hillside blocks the pane stays cold for longer each morning. A double-glazed unit's sealed gap keeps the inner pane closer to room temperature, so there's much less cold surface for moisture to form on. Pair it with a window style that moves air through the room and you attack the damp from both ends.
It depends on the block, and that isn't a dodge. The five styles we make each work differently: louvre blades pivot, awning sashes hinge at the top, casements hinge at the side, double-hungs slide up and down, and sliders run one panel past another. Our louvres use Breezeway blades in Vantage aluminium frames. On a sloping site the thing worth settling is which elevation the air actually reaches, and that is something we can read in a minute standing in your yard. The right mix depends on how your house sits on its block, so we sort it at the on-site measure.
Generally not for like-for-like swaps. Queensland adopted the NCC 2022 7-star energy provisions from 1 May 2024, but QBCC guidance scopes them to new builds and major renovations. Replacing a window with one of the same size usually doesn't trigger the requirement. If you're extending or doing a major renovation on your Everton Hills place, glazing becomes one of the most influential factors in reaching the rating, and double glazing is often part of the answer. We'll tell you straight which case yours is.
Nothing. The quote includes a free on-site measure, where we check every opening rather than pricing off a photo. We're based at Brendale, close enough that Everton Hills jobs fit into our regular local runs. Once you approve the quote, your windows are made at our own factory and fitted by our own crew, with a workmanship guarantee on the installation. Call 07 3353 1588 or book through the contact page.
