Murrumba Downs doors, made just up the road in Brendale
Our factory and showroom sit at 241 Leitchs Road, Brendale, roughly 15 minutes and 11 km from Murrumba Downs via Strathpine, Lawnton and Petrie. Our fleet covers North Brisbane and the Pine Rivers corridor, so a Murrumba Downs measure or install slots into regular local runs rather than a special trip. The people who make your door and the crew who fit it work from the same address.

Why Murrumba Downs chooses custom aluminium glass doors
Murrumba Downs has been building houses since 1979, when it split from Kallangur and became its own suburb, and the door openings here show every era of it. The first streets went in through the 1980s while parts of the area were still farmland. Growth then ran hard: 7,094 people by 2006, 10,795 by 2021, which points to most of the detached stock going up through the 1990s and 2000s. After the railway station opened in late 2016, townhouse infill followed. Three building eras, three kinds of door work.
It’s still a separate-house suburb at heart. 73.5% of dwellings are detached, averaging 3.5 bedrooms, and 45% of families are couples with children. That profile shapes what people ask us for. Families want the rear slider opened into a stacker so the kitchen flows out to the deck. And the older frames, some of them going on four decades old, are rarely square any more.
The river matters too. Murrumba Downs is bounded by the North Pine River to the south and Fresh Water Creek to the north, and summer storms push driven rain at rear doors and worn sills. A sill detail that held for years starts letting water track inside.
None of that suits a stock door. Force a standard size into a settled opening and you get packers in the frame and a door that drags within the year. So we work the other way around. We measure your opening as it actually is, then make the door to match in our own 1,700 sqm Brendale factory. Our installers hold Cert III in Glass and Glazing and Cert III in Carpentry, so when a frame has moved they can correct the structure before the door goes in. External glazed doors are installed to suit the wind-pressure requirements AS 2047 sets for the site. Most residential installs are done in one to two days.
Aluminium glass doors we make for Murrumba Downs
Every door below is made to measure at Brendale, never pulled from a rack. The aluminium range covers sliding and centre-opening doors, stackers, frameless glass doors, internal glass doors and custom builds.
Common door problems we solve in Murrumba Downs
Converting a standard slider to a stacker
Most detached houses here average 3.5 bedrooms, and family life spills out the back. A two-panel slider from the 1990s only ever opens half the doorway, which feels small once there's a deck on the other side. You paid for the full opening; a slider gives you half of it. We check the head and sill can carry multi-panel tracks, then fabricate a stacking door to the existing opening at our Brendale factory. Wide external openings are built to the wind-load rating AS 2047 sets for the site.
Hinged entrance door replacement
Entrance doors on the suburb's 1980s and 90s houses have taken decades of daily use and Queensland summer weather. Hinges drop and the seals go hard. A dropped entrance door scrapes the sill and never locks cleanly, and it's the first thing every visitor touches. Our architectural range replaces it with a hinged aluminium entrance door or custom entry panel, in single, double or multi-panel layouts with your pick of hardware and privacy options.
Out-of-square openings needing custom fabrication
The oldest streets in Murrumba Downs date from the 1980s subdivision run, and door frames settle as houses age. A stock-size door assumes a square hole that mostly no longer exists. Forcing a standard door into a settled opening leaves gaps at one corner and a drag at the other. We measure the opening as it stands and make the door to match. Our installers hold Cert III in Carpentry alongside Glass and Glazing, so they can square up the reveal where the structure needs it.
Water at the door sill during storms
The suburb runs down to the North Pine River, with Fresh Water Creek on its northern edge, and summer storms drive rain hard at rear doors. Worn sill seals and tired flashing give that water a way in. Water tracking under a sill soaks flooring long before anyone finds the source. We assess the sill, flashing and drainage before quoting, then install the replacement door to the wind-pressure requirements AS 2047 sets for external glazed doors. Correct sill detail gives storm water a path out, though no door maker can promise away the weather.

Our hinged entrance range
Architectural glass doors in Murrumba Downs
When the front of the house is the job, look at our architectural range: hinged aluminium entrance doors, entry doors and custom entry panels for homes and commercial properties. Panels come in single, double or multi-panel layouts, with your choice of handles, locks, hinges and privacy options. We build on Breezeway and Vantage systems, and a door can include ComfortEdge, which is designed to cut heat transfer through the door and steady indoor temperatures. On an entry that cops full afternoon sun in a Queensland summer, that's worth having. A 1990s entrance sagging on its hinges and a new double-panel front door for a rail-line townhouse both follow the same path: measure, fabricate at Brendale, install. The full range lives on our architectural glass doors page.
Why Murrumba Downs trusts Superior Glass
Superior Glass has made and installed glass doors since 1972, and it's still Australian family-owned, with director Nathan Fox hands-on in the business day to day. We're not a middleman. Every door is made in our own 1,700 sqm factory and showroom at 241 Leitchs Road, Brendale, then installed by our own crews. Those installers hold Cert III in Glass and Glazing and Cert III in Carpentry, which is why a settled 1980s frame doesn't slow them down. We're QBCC licensed and insured. Queensland law requires a QBCC Glass, Glazing and Aluminium licence for paid glazing work, including fabricating and installing doors. Most residential door installs take one to two days. We also supply and install Prowler Proof and Crimsafe security doors, so a security screen can be specified with your new glass door instead of retrofitted later by another contractor.

Aluminium Glass Doors in Murrumba Downs: your questions answered
Usually, yes. We check that the existing head and sill can take multi-panel tracks, then measure the opening as it stands. The stacker is fabricated to those measurements in our Brendale factory rather than ordered in a stock size. Wide external openings are built to the wind-load rating AS 2047 sets for the site. Most residential installs are done in one to two days.
Our factory and showroom are at 241 Leitchs Road, Brendale, roughly 15 minutes and 11 km away via Strathpine, Lawnton and Petrie. We don't have a Murrumba Downs office. Every door is made at Brendale, and our fleet covers the Pine Rivers corridor, so your measure and install slot into regular local runs.
Yes. The earliest Murrumba Downs streets were subdivided in the 1980s, and frames settle over that many years. We measure the real opening, out-of-square and all, and make the door to those measurements in our own factory. Our installers hold Cert III in Carpentry as well as Glass and Glazing, so they can correct the reveal where the structure needs it.
Yes. The architectural range covers hinged aluminium entrance doors, entry doors and custom entry panels for homes and commercial properties. Panels come single, double or multi-panel with your choice of handles, locks, hinges and privacy options. We build on Breezeway and Vantage systems, and ComfortEdge can be included to reduce heat transfer through the door.
No installer can promise that, so we don't. What we do is assess the sill, flashing and drainage around the existing door first, then install the new external glazed door to the wind-pressure requirements AS 2047 sets for the site. With the North Pine River along the suburb's southern boundary, plenty of rear doors here cop driven rain in summer storms. Correct sill detail gives that water a path out instead of in.
Only in limited cases. Queensland adopted the NCC 2022 7-star energy provisions on 1 May 2024, and they apply to new builds and major renovations. A like-for-like replacement of an existing door generally doesn't trigger them. If you're doing a major renovation on a 1990s house, glazing is one of the most influential factors, and we can talk through options such as ComfortEdge at the measure.
