Our installers already work the Kallangur and Murrumba Downs corridor on regular runs, so Griffin door jobs get scheduled as local work, never a special trip. Why Griffin chooses custom aluminium glass doors
Griffin grew from 2,358 residents to 12,295 between the 2011 and 2021 Censuses. That’s a suburb built almost from scratch in one decade. And the building has stopped. A June 2026 property market report counted just 7 land transactions in the year to March 2026, down from 612 five years earlier. Door glass that doesn't meet AS 1288
AS 1288 requires Grade A safety glass, toughened or laminated, in doors and in glazed panels that could be mistaken for a doorway. A panel that's been swapped on the cheap doesn't always meet it. Ordinary glass breaks into large, sharp pieces at exactly the height where kids and dogs make contact. Every door panel we manufacture gets Grade A safety glass. When we come out to measure, we'll tell you straight whether your existing glass complies or needs to go.
Adding security screens without a second contractor
Security screens usually arrive as a retrofit, quoted by a screen company that had nothing to do with the door. Many Griffin sliders still have bare glass. A screen that isn't matched to the door can foul the lock or leave gaps at the frame. We supply and fit Prowler Proof and Crimsafe screens ourselves, so screen and door get measured on one visit and made to suit each other. Anything sold as a security screen must pass the tests set out in the AS 5039 series.
Heat pouring through builder-grade doors
A glass slider is the thinnest part of the wall, thermally speaking. Builder-spec doors with shrunken seals leak cool air out in summer and warmth out on winter nights. Your air con runs longer to hold the same temperature, and the power bill shows it. Replacement doors from us can integrate the ComfortEdge system, designed to reduce heat transfer through door and window systems and stabilise indoor temperatures. And because the whole unit is newly made, it arrives with fresh seals throughout.
Doors sticking as young houses settle
New estates everywhere go through this. Slabs and frames move a little in their first years, and a door opening that was square at handover ends up slightly out. Wet and dry spells make the movement worse. A door forced across a twisted track wears its rollers flat and can stop locking properly. Before that, we visit to measure, because every door is manufactured to your opening at our Brendale factory rather than pulled from a shelf. It's common in newer estates. Houses move slightly in their first years, and door openings can end up a few millimetres out of square, which drags the door across its track. Because our installers are qualified in both glazing and carpentry, we can correct the opening as well as the door. Often the right fix is a made-to-measure replacement built for the opening as it is now.
