Sliding doors are the hardest-working thing in most Brisbane houses, and they show it. Rollers wear out, tracks fill and distort, and eventually the door won’t sit square or lock. When it gets to that point, we replace the whole door with one built at our Brendale factory to fit the opening you already have.
We’ve been making and fitting glass doors since 1972. The same qualified glaziers who measure your opening are the ones who install it.
When a door needs replacing rather than repairing
A lot of sliding door problems are fixable. New rollers, a cleaned or capped track, or a single replacement pane will often buy years. We’d rather do that than sell you a door you don’t need.
Replacement is the honest answer when:
- The track itself is worn through or bent, so cleaning it will not help
- Water comes in at the sill in heavy rain
- The door has dropped enough that it won’t square up or lock
- The frame is corroded, particularly closer to the bay
- You’re widening the opening or changing how it opens
- You want a larger panel than the existing frame can carry

- Whether the opening is square, and how far out it is
- The state of the sill and the subfloor under it
- Whether the head is carrying load and needs support
- Drainage, and where water currently goes
- Whether a security screen or pet door is going on

Replacing a door is a chance to change how the room works
A like-for-like swap is the simplest job and often the right one. But the frame is already coming out, so it’s the cheapest time to change the opening. A two-panel slider can become a three-panel stacker. A single door onto a deck can become a bi-fold that opens the room up.

Common questions about door replacement
Can you reuse the existing frame?
Only if it’s sound. If the track is worn through or the frame is out of square, a new door in an old frame will have the same problems within a year.
Will a new door fit the existing curtains and blinds?
Usually, if it’s a like-for-like replacement. Tell us at the measure if you’re keeping window furnishings and we’ll work to those sightlines.
Can you fit a security screen to a new sliding door?
Yes. We fit Prowler Proof and Crimsafe security doors, and it’s cheaper to plan both together than to add one later.
What happens to the old door?
We take it away. Removal and disposal are part of the job.
