Eatons Hill windows, made just up the road in Brendale
From our Brendale factory it's about 7 km up South Pine Road and Eatons Crossing Road into Eatons Hill, roughly a 10 minute drive. There's no Superior Glass shopfront in the suburb. 241 Leitchs Road, Brendale is the only address we work from. Our fleet works out of that base across North Brisbane and the Pine Rivers area, so a measure at your place is a short trip from the factory, and it costs you nothing.

Why Eatons Hill chooses custom aluminium glass windows
West of Cash’s Crossing the blocks came first. Building in Eatons Hill started there in the early 1970s, pushed further west through the late 1990s, and by 2008 nearly half the suburb had been intensively subdivided. Eatons Hill State School opened in 1998, in the middle of that second wave. Set that against standard suburban lots through the east and larger acreage properties held in the west, and the openings we measure a few streets apart can be thirty years apart in age and nothing like each other in size. All of it ends up handled the same way: every window is cut to the size of the opening it fills.
Almost nobody here rents. Only 10.2% of homes were rented at the 2021 Census, 28.3% were owned outright and most of the rest carry a mortgage. The person choosing the glass is the person who has to live behind it, which changes what gets asked at a quote: less about the cheapest way through the job, more about which rooms are hard to sit in on a hot afternoon and which ones never get enough light. Households here average 3.1 people, so those rooms are in use through the day, not only in the evening.
On the standard lots the neighbour’s wall is close, which makes a bedroom or bathroom window a privacy question before it is a style question. That is a decision about the glass, and it gets made at the quote, not at the factory.
Condensation tracks build era more than postcode, and a suburb that started building in the early 1970s has plenty of the housing it turns up in. Water forms on the inside of the glass on cool mornings and drains into the frame, and the fix is the glazing, not the paintwork. The double-glazed units for that are built at Brendale to the size of the opening they sit in.
One answer covers the whole spread: we make the window. Five aluminium styles, Vantage systems with Breezeway louvre blades, double glazing, all built to your measurements at our 1,700 sqm Brendale factory. The free on-site measure comes first, then design and quote, manufacture, install, and a final inspection before handover.
Aluminium glass windows we make for Eatons Hill
Every window here is manufactured at our Brendale factory to your own dimensions, so a non-standard width is ordinary work. Frame colour, finish and glass type get picked job by job.
Common window problems we solve in Eatons Hill
Windows that look straight into the neighbour's place
By 2008 nearly half of Eatons Hill had been intensively subdivided, and the eastern part of the suburb is standard suburban lots, with the bigger acreage blocks kept to the west. On a standard lot the houses sit close, so bathroom and bedroom windows often line up with the place next door. People end up leaving blinds shut all day, which costs them the light and the breeze they paid for. Glass type is one of the things we settle at the quote, so you can spec a window for privacy where it faces a neighbour and keep it clear where it faces the yard. Because each frame is built for one specific opening, the spec can differ from window to window on the same house.
Replacing a storm-damaged window at the same size
Broken glass has to go back into the opening that is already there, and Eatons Hill has been framing openings since the early 1970s west of Cash's Crossing, through the push west in the late 1990s, and on until nearly half the suburb was subdivided by 2008. Thirty years of window sizes sit in the one suburb, and the older ones in particular rarely match what a stock supplier carries. A boarded-up opening keeps neither the weather nor anyone else out. We measure what is there, make the glass or the whole window at Brendale, and fit it with our own crews. Where the sill sits lower than 500 mm above the floor, or the glass sits in or beside a door, AS 1288 calls for Grade A toughened or laminated safety glass, so that's what goes back in.
Working out whether the 7-star rules apply to your window job
Queensland adopted the NCC 2022 energy provisions on 1 May 2024, setting a 7-star NatHERS rating for the building shell. That applies to new builds and major renovations. A same-size replacement or a reglaze generally doesn't trigger it. Owners get quoted for performance glass they may not be required to buy, or get caught short part-way through a big renovation. Tell us the scope of the work when you enquire and we'll say which side of that line your job sits on. On a like-for-like replacement the rule isn't in play. On a genuine new build or major renovation, glazing is one of the most influential parts of reaching 7 stars, so we quote double glazing and the glass options that suit the design.
Condensation and mould around single-glazed windows
The 1970s and 80s houses west of Cash's Crossing, and plenty of the original glazing in the estates, are usually single-glazed. One pane tracks the outside temperature, so on cool mornings indoor moisture settles on the glass and runs down into the frame. Mould around a sill keeps coming back until the water stops forming. A double-glazed unit runs two panes with a sealed gap between them. The gap slows heat transfer and keeps the inner pane closer to room temperature, so less water forms on it, and it cuts outside noise as well. Industry guidance for a subtropical climate like Brisbane's puts solar heat gain alongside U-value when picking glass. We make the double-glazed units to the size we measure, right there at the factory.

Architectural glass windows in Eatons Hill
Not every window job here starts with something broken. On a 1970s house west of the crossing, a renovation often means pulling out two or three of the original small openings and putting one long window back in their place. On the larger blocks further west, it can be a row of windows carried across a wide frontage on a single sill line. That is the work people are describing when they search for architectural glass windows in Eatons Hill. It comes out of the same five aluminium styles we make for everyone; what changes is the size, and we make each one to the exact width and height the opening needs. Combining openings is structural work as much as glazing work, and our installers hold Cert III in Carpentry alongside Cert III in Glass and Glazing, so one crew covers both. A wide frontage brings AS 2047 into it as well: under that standard, external windows are tested and rated for wind pressure and water penetration, and new windows in habitable buildings have to meet it. Talk it through at the measure, drawings in hand if you have them.
Why Eatons Hill trusts Superior Glass
Superior Glass has been making and fitting glass since 1972, and it's still Australian family-owned, with director Nathan Fox in the business day to day. Windows for Eatons Hill are made at our 1,700 sqm factory and showroom at 241 Leitchs Road, Brendale, then installed by our own crews. Houses and commercial sites are both handled out of that one factory. Our installers hold Cert III in Glass and Glazing plus Cert III in Carpentry, which matters when a 1970s opening needs squaring up before new glass goes in. We're QBCC licensed and insured. The QBCC requires a Glass, Glazing and Aluminium licence for paid glazing work in Queensland, so it's fair to ask anyone quoting you to confirm theirs. Installations carry a workmanship guarantee. Feedback on our window work mentions decades-old windows replaced promptly and the site left clean afterwards.

Aluminium Glass Windows in Eatons Hill: your questions answered
Depends what took the damage. If the frame is sound, a reglaze puts new glass into what is already there, and that is the quicker job. If the frame is bent or corroded, or the sash has gone, the window gets built again. Handy to have before you ring: the rough size, where the window sits in the house, and whether anything besides the glass is damaged. Either way the size is measured on site, because Eatons Hill openings run from the first 1970s houses through to subdivision still going in 2008. Ring 07 3353 1588 or email sales@superiorglass.com.au.
Not much, but a few things make it quicker. Know which rooms are the problem and what the problem actually is: heat, noise, a window that will not open, water on the glass. Have a think about whether you want the same style back or something different, because there are five aluminium styles to pick from. If a builder or a renovation is involved, have the drawings out. We do the measuring ourselves, and nothing gets made off a number read out over the phone. The visit and the quote cost nothing.
Sort it out at the measure, on site. We stand in the actual room and see which windows look straight at next door and which face your own yard, so the decision comes from the real sightlines in the house. Only the windows that overlook a neighbour need privacy glass; the rest stay clear. Point it out when we come to measure, room by room, and the visit costs you nothing.
Almost always just the rooms. Noise, heat and water forming on the inside of the glass tend to concentrate in two or three rooms, and units are made one at a time to the openings you pick. Write down which windows bother you and when, because an afternoon room and a cold-morning room are different problems with different glass answers. The measure is free, so working out the shortlist costs you nothing. Each one is built to order at our Brendale factory.
Louvres are the style built for airflow, and we use Breezeway blades in Vantage systems. Casement and awning windows are the next step across if you want a clear pane that still opens. Houses on the bigger blocks in the west of Eatons Hill often have open ground on more than one side, which is where a bank on two walls earns its keep, though cross-flow works on a standard lot too when the openings line up. Because the window is made to fit the space you have, a louvre bank can run its full width.
Usually, and it is worth raising early. New frames are colour-matched to the ones you are keeping, and the glass is picked to sit alongside them. Nearly half of Eatons Hill was intensively subdivided by 2008, so plenty of houses here are still on their original frames and owners work through them a few at a time. You can see the colours and finishes at the Brendale showroom, or we can go through them at the measure.
