Cashmere doors, made just up the road in Brendale
Cashmere is a rural-residential acreage suburb about 25 km north-west of Brisbane, with blocks concentrated near the Warner boundary and the One Mile Creek linear park. It sits at the D'Aguilar Range foothills near Clear Mountain, with dense forest around much of the suburb and Lake Samsonvale on the northern boundary. Our factory at 241 Leitchs Road, Brendale is roughly 9 km away, and our service fleet runs the Pine Rivers corridor daily, so Cashmere jobs slot into regular local runs.

Why Cashmere chooses custom aluminium glass doors
An average of 4.2 bedrooms per dwelling is the first number that explains Cashmere. The second: 1,496 of the suburb’s 1,508 occupied homes are separate houses, which is 99.2%. These are not compact lots. Along Clear Mountain Road, listings have offered blocks around 1.5 hectares with dams, tennis courts and more than 500 sqm of living space. Houses at that scale carry openings to match. A back wall of glass facing the trees. An entrance meant to be seen from the end of a long drive.
Stock doors are sized for standard suburban openings, and very little in Cashmere is standard. Take the stacker conversion: a two-panel slider only opens half its width, and once there’s a deck or alfresco on the other side, that half-opening chokes the whole living area. Widening it is structural work. We fabricate every door at our 1,700 sqm Brendale factory to the measured opening, so the frame, panels and glass arrive already cut to your house.
The setting shapes the spec too. Cashmere sits in forested, elevated country at the D’Aguilar Range foothills adjoining Clear Mountain, with Lake Samsonvale to the north and state forest holding much of the lake frontage. In 2014 a large bushfire threatened properties on Old School Road, Winn Road and Clear Mountain Road, which tells you how close the bush sits. Day to day, bushland means insects, and long driveways keep houses out of sight from the road. That’s why plenty of owners here add security screens to their glass doors. We supply and install Prowler Proof and Crimsafe screens ourselves, so the screen door is specified and fitted in the same job as the glass.
Wide external openings also come with engineering. AS 2047, the standard for external glazed doors, requires wide sliding and stacking openings to meet the wind-load rating for the site. AS 1288 requires Grade A safety glass in doors. Our installers hold Cert III in Glass and Glazing and Cert III in Carpentry, which counts when a conversion changes the structure around the opening. One more number: median household income here is $2,950 a week, and 93.5% of homes are owner-occupied. These are properties people plan to keep. The doors should be made for the opening and fitted once, properly.

Common door problems we solve in Cashmere
Converting a standard sliding door to a stacker for alfresco flow
Many acreage homes were built with a two-panel slider that only opens half its width. Once owners add a deck or alfresco area, that half-opening becomes the bottleneck between inside and out. Widening the opening is structural work, and the finished door must meet the AS 2047 wind-load rating for the site. Our crews hold Cert III in Carpentry as well as Cert III in Glass and Glazing, so the same team reworks the opening and fits the stacker, fabricated to size at our Brendale factory.
Hinged aluminium entrance door replacement
Entrance doors on older prestige builds drop on their hinges over time, and a dated entry stands out once the rest of the house has been updated. The entry is a daily-use security point, and AS 1288 requires Grade A safety glass in glazed door panels. We build hinged aluminium entrance doors and custom entry panels from our architectural range, in single, double or multi-panel configurations with your choice of hardware.
Out-of-square older openings needing custom fabrication
Houses on acreage settle over the decades, and timber-framed openings move with the seasons. The frame ends up out of square, so a stock door binds or leaves gaps. A square door forced into a crooked opening drags within a year and lets in weather and insects. We measure the opening as it actually is, fabricate the door to those numbers at Brendale, and our carpentry-qualified installers true up the reveal during the fit.
Water getting in at door sills during storms
Storm rain driven against a large glass opening finds worn sill tracks and tired seals, especially on doors that have run for decades. Water at the sill soaks into flooring and wall framing long before the damage shows. We replace the door and sill as one made-to-measure unit built at our Brendale factory, installed to AS 2047, the standard covering external glazed doors and their installation.

Our hinged entrance range
Architectural glass doors in Cashmere
Architectural glass doors in Cashmere means our hinged entrance range: hinged aluminium entrance doors and custom entry panels for homes and commercial properties. Panels come in single, double or multi-panel configurations with a choice of handles, locks, hinges and privacy options. On a Clear Mountain Road build, the entrance is the first thing anyone sees at the end of the drive, so owners tend to want a panel made for that exact opening. We install using Breezeway and Vantage systems, and doors can integrate with ComfortEdge, designed to reduce heat transfer through the door and keep indoor temperatures steadier. On a west-facing acreage entry that cops full afternoon sun, that's a practical difference. Commercial jobs get commercial-grade hardware rated for high-traffic use. The full set of configurations and hardware is on our architectural glass doors page.
Why Cashmere trusts Superior Glass
Superior Glass Brisbane has manufactured and installed glass since 1972. We're still Australian family-owned, and director Nathan Fox is hands-on in daily operations. Every door is made at our own 1,700 sqm factory and showroom at 241 Leitchs Road, Brendale, and installed by our own crews. Our installers hold Cert III in Glass and Glazing and Cert III in Carpentry. We're QBCC licensed and insured. That licence matters: in Queensland, paid glazing work requires a QBCC glass, glazing and aluminium licence covering the fabrication and installation of doors. Residential door installations typically take 1-2 days once fabrication is done. We also supply and install Prowler Proof and Crimsafe security screens, so a screen door can be fitted in the same visit as your glass door. Our service fleet covers North Brisbane and the Pine Rivers corridor, so Cashmere sits inside our regular runs.

Aluminium Glass Doors in Cashmere: your questions answered
No. Our factory and showroom are at 241 Leitchs Road, Brendale, roughly 9 km from Cashmere. You're welcome to visit and look at door systems and glass options, or we'll come to you. Most Cashmere jobs start with a measure at your property, because acreage openings here rarely match stock sizes. Call 07 3353 1588 to book either way.
Yes. Converting a two-panel slider to a stacker usually means widening or reworking the opening, so our crews use both their glazing and carpentry qualifications on the one job. The new stacker is fabricated to your measured opening at our Brendale factory, and the finished opening must meet the AS 2047 wind-load rating for your site. We handle the lot, from measure to final fit.
Residential door installations typically take 1-2 days. The longer lead is fabrication, because every door is made to measure at our Brendale factory before we arrive on site. Once your opening is measured and the door is built, the fit itself moves quickly. Bigger structural jobs, like a wide stacker conversion, get scheduled by size and scope.
Yes. We supply and install Prowler Proof and Crimsafe security screens, so a screen door can be specified alongside your glass door and fitted in the same job. On bush-backed Cashmere blocks, screens earn their keep against insects, and they add a security layer on properties set well back from the road. One crew, one visit, both doors made for the same opening.
Two main ones. AS 2047 covers windows and external glazed doors, including the wind-load rating that wide sliding and stacking openings must meet for your site. AS 1288 requires Grade A safety glass, toughened or laminated, in doors. We fabricate and fit doors to meet these requirements, and in Queensland paid glazing work itself requires a QBCC glass, glazing and aluminium licence.
